Our story

Bridgewood Farms started in 1980 with a simple, stubborn conviction: adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities deserve meaningful work, real relationships, and a place to call home for the long haul. Four decades later, we're a 200-acre working farm and lifelong community north of Houston. Residents rise with the sun to tend goats, harvest squash, run our on-site kitchen, and welcome visitors to the farm store. Every task is an on-ramp to purpose — and every resident is somebody the rest of the community counts on. We operate residential care, day programs, vocational training, and agricultural therapy under one roof. Our team leans on decades of hands-on experience and refuses the industry default of institutional shortcuts. Family isn't a slogan here; it's the operating system.
“My son didn't just find a place to live. He found people who need him back.”
— Parent of a Bridgewood resident, 12 years
